Recognize your Student Researcher During Grantsmanship 2020

Have you mentored students in a research project beyond their Senior Investigative Paper and outside of a classroom setting between January 1 – December 31, 2019? If so, Smith Institute for Applied Research and Government Sponsored Programs and Research, would like to honor them at our Annual Grantsmanship Awards Ceremony. This year’s date is Tuesday, February 18th. Faculty must submit their student researcher information by January 24th for their students to receive a $50 gift card and a Certificate of Achievement at the ceremony. Please contact tsbengle@jcsu.edu for access to the online form.

Determining Annual Grantsmanship Award Eligibility

Q1. Did the research take place between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019?

a. yes (proceed to question 2)

b. no (we are sorry-this student is not eligible for the Annual Grantsmanship Award)

Q2. Is the student currently enrolled in classes at JCSU?

a. yes (proceed to question 3)

b. no (we are sorry-this student is not eligible for the Annual Grantsmanship Award)

Q3. Was the research project faculty mentored?

a. yes (proceed to question 4)

b. no (we are sorry-this student is not eligible for the Annual Grantsmanship Award)

Q4. Was the research project for the student’s Senior Investigative Paper?

a. yes (proceed to question 6)

b. no (proceed to question 7)

Q5. Was the research project part of a class requirement?

a. yes (proceed to question 6)

b. no (proceed to question 7)

Q6. Did the student present OR publish the research in a platform beyond what was required by the Senior Investigative Paper or class (e.g. Poster Symposium for Undergraduate Research Week, regional academic conference, community meeting, JCSU Undergraduate Research Journal, another peer-reviewed journal, magazine, etc.)?

a. yes (congratulations-this student is eligible for the Annual Grantsmanship Award)

b. no (we are sorry-this student is not eligible for the Annual Grantsmanship Award)

Q7. Did the student present OR publish the research (e.g. Poster Symposium for Undergraduate Research Week, regional academic conference, community meeting, JCSU Undergraduate Research Journal, another peer-reviewed journal, magazine, etc.)
