Four Johnson C. Smith University students will present their research at the Council on Undergraduate Research’s virtual NCUR @ Home 2021 conference in April. Joi Haywood, Justice Jackson, Jamia Johnson, and Awa Sore will join their undergraduate peers, nationally, to present research and represent JCSU to a global audience.
The on-campus effort to enlist student participation was supported by faculty who encouraged JCSU students to submit abstracts to participate in NCUR at Home. JCSU students who had participated in the 2020 JCSU Student Poster Competition had developed their abstracts with guidance from Smith Institute’s abstract writing and poster creation videos. Justice Jackson was among them. Once submitted, abstracts were reviewed by the Council on Undergraduate Research.
NCUR @ Home 2021 will allow these fours students to further develop the skills that they have refined as part of the research process.
