September 22nd from 8:30am-12:30pm, in the New Science Center, JCSU will host the 8th annual Indaba. The Council of Elders have invited city officials, JCSU’s own director of library services, and the Executive Director of Leading on opportunity to give voice to the community.
December 7th, as part of the multi-day Smith Institute Symposium, CMS students, HBCU faculty, and members of the community gathered to discuss characteristics that lead to success among black males. Smith Institute for Applied Research will host a Symposium with activities beginning December 6th at 5:30pm and the main Symposium taking place December 7th, at 11:30am.
Dr. Carter will host An Evening with Ralph Groce, III, who is the Chief Information Officer & Senior Vice President at Everest Global Services, a Fortune 500 company to give a fireside chat as part of the symposium activities, the evening of Wednesday, December 6th at 5:30pm.

The JCSU 2015 Research Symposium and Showcase will take place November 5th and 6th in the new Science Center. The symposium will explore two themes: Thursday’s event will focus discussions on the Black Male, and Friday’s topic is Metacognition and Educational Success.

Have you mentored students in a research project beyond their Senior Investigative Paper and outside of a classroom setting between January 1 – December 31, 2019? If so, Smith Institute for Applied Research and Government Sponsored Programs and Research, would like to honor them at our Annual Grantsmanship Awards Ceremony.
