Faculty & Staff CURE Fellowship Application Open for 2021
Smith Institute for Applied Research announces the opening of the 2021 Faculty CURE Fellowship application. If you are a faculty member interested in incorporating research experiences into your course and are looking for the time and training to give your students experiential learning opportunities, apply by May 27th at 11:59pm. This year’s fellowship training will take place the week of June 7, 2021 – June 11, 2021.

Smith University hosted the 3rd Annual Phasing Up to Higher Education Conference to discuss Best Practices in Higher Education Supports for Youth Aging Out of Foster Care. Dr. Ronald L. Carter gave the welcome to an audience of higher education professionals, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools guidance counselors, Department of Social Services Youth and Family Services Division case workers, students and faculty.

2015 Call for Student Research Posters
JCSU Student Researchers! The Smith Institute for Applied Research requests submissions for the Fall 2015 Research Showcase to be held November 5-6, 2015 at Johnson C. Smith University. JCSU students engaged in research may submit proposals to have a poster highlighting their research included in the showcase. Posters will be displayed during the Research Showcase at lunch in Grimes Lounge both days, and selected poster presenters must be present to answer questions about their research for attendees.

2015 Symposium Save the Date
The JCSU 2015 Research Symposium and Showcase will take place November 5th and 6th in the new Science Center. The symposium will explore two themes: Thursday’s event will focus discussions on the Black Male, and Friday’s topic is Metacognition and Educational Success.
